The world has never really been a safe place for women, especially not for our voices. We are often expected to be “palatable” and this expectation results in generations of women who have been trained to be silent because the world thrives on our silence.

For me, that silence was a formative companion. Growing up in an environment where emotional and spiritual expression felt restricted, I learned to communicate through the subtle; the energy I carried, the way I moved, and the clothes I wore.

Today, those silent expressions have found a loud, vibrant, and unapologetic home. Ìtùnúmary, was born from that silence, from that deep desire to never let another woman feel like her voice doesn’t matter. More than being a clothing brand, it is a creative expression against the muzzles of the past.

Born from my personal journey of reclaiming my power, the brand serves as a bridge for the modern African woman to step out of the shadows. While fashion is the primary medium, the true product is presence. My brand seeks to provide a space where women can express their authentic selves without fear of being "too much" or the need to quiet down for the sake of peace. In the Ìtùnúmary universe (the itunumaryverse, if you will), clothing is both the armor and the megaphone.

I view fashion as a vessel for cultural preservation. By weaving the richness of African heritage into contemporary designs, Ìtùnúmary is ensuring that our stories survive and thrive in creativity.

Designs are made for those who wear their history with pride and each collection serves as a bridge between ancestral legacy and modern identity, ensuring that our traditions remain vibrant and visible.

The vision for Ìtùnúmary extends far beyond the seams of a dress. I envision a complete creative universe; a hub where African women can explore their individuality through music, movement, film, and art. It is an invitation for every woman to speak loudly and freely in every medium possible.

We’re still at the beginning of our journey, but the mission is so clear, and it’s to ensure that no woman’s voice is ever sidelined again. Even in the silence of the past, there was always a story waiting to be told. And now, it finally is. Whether through a bold silhouette or a soulful melody, Ìtùnúmary is here to remind us that our voices are just as important as everybody else’s and they are worth celebrating.
